What you'll do

Welcome to an authentic Samos experience as we explore a traditional soap factory and a family-run olive oil production company. Our journey begins at the soap factory, where olive oil-based soap is crafted without any chemical additives, following a 100-year-old method and maintaining a time-honored quality.

Stroll through the production rooms and observe the intricate process of heating, cutting, and molding the soap into various shapes. Guided by our cheerful host, you'll gain insight into the labor and dedication involved in creating these exceptional soaps and olive oil-based natural cosmetics.

Next, we'll head to Marcou Olive Factory, where ancient traditions meet modern innovation in making exceptional olive products. Join a guided tour through the entire production process, from sustainable farming to bottling extra virgin olive oil. Discover the significance of olive oil to Greek culture and try award-winning extra virgin olive oils and olives. The journey finishes with a visit to the store where you can take home your favorite olive products to keep the taste of Samos with you long after your visit.

What you'll do

Marathokampos

We will depart from Kokkari, crossing Samos along the scenic North Coast road to Karlovassi. The road then winds its way up through the mountains bringing us up to the first stop, Marathokampos, a picturesque, quiet coastal town.

Pythagoras Cave

After continuing along the road inwards, the second stop will be Pythagoras Cave.

A picturesque drive through the mountains leads to the foot of the cave. A short climb up the stairs will bring you to a small mountain chapel. We will follow the path higher and find the cave where Pythagoras himself took refuge to live and work for part of his life.

MT. Kerkis

Enjoy the stunning view of the towering MT. Kerkis above and the shimmering sea below. After returning down the stairs, we’ll have some time for refreshments at the café and to stock up on local mountain herbs before continuing the tour.

Drakei

The next stop will be in Drakei, right around lunchtime, the perfect moment for a traditional Greek lunch! Drakei is a small traditional village set up in the hills with a stunning view of the Aegean. The restaurant is run by a local family and it's a well-kept secret from the tourists. Beneath the shade of a mulberry tree, enjoy stuffed zucchini flowers, Greek salad, and saganaki, paired with fresh pressed orange juice and other seasonal surprises. On the way up to Drakei, we will make a quick stop to enjoy the stunning views.

Limionas

After lunch, it's beach time. Limionas village, nestled at the foot of Mt. Kerkis, offers a tranquil sea teeming with aquatic life. Swim, snorkel, unwind, or simply soak up the sun on its serene beaches.

What you'll do

Kerveli Beach

The journey begins in Kokkari. We will travel by car which allows us to stop and enjoy the beautiful surroundings along the way. Known for its breathtaking sunrises, Kerveli is known as the first spot where Greece greets the morning sun. Sink your toes into the soft shingle sands and wade into the crystal-clear turquoise waters—a serene experience perfect for families and inexperienced swimmers. From the shoreline, catch a glimpse across the sea of Kusadasi in Turkey. Then we can head to one of the nearby tavernas to enjoy delicious traditional Greek dishes.

Mykali Beach

Next is Mykali Beach (Greek: Παραλία Μυκάλη), one of the largest and most beloved beaches of Samos. Renowned for its charm, Mykali offers a sprawling 3.2 km pebble shoreline and pristine, sheltered waters that remain calm even on windy days.

Alyki Wetland

Next, we will head towards Alyki Wetland near Mykali Beach, formerly a salt mine until 1965. Today, it stands as a historic site with remnants like hangars and transport wagons. Transitioning from saltworks to a thriving ecological area, Alyki is now a critical habitat for numerous bird species, many of which are rare or endangered. Designated as a protected area and part of CORINE NATURA 2000, it is home to 127 bird species, including flamingos, mallards, swans, herons, and bitterns that migrate here to breed annually. This makes Alyki Wetland the perfect spot for birdwatching and wildlife observation, where you will be able to see a diverse array of birds and mammals in their natural habitat.

Psili Ammos Beach

Finally, we will drive to Psili Ammos Beach, known as "fine sand" in Greek. It's one of Samos' most famous beaches, featuring soft sand and clear, calm waters. The shallow sea makes it perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
